The Realm of Avalon, BMCS is a non-profit organization located in Summit County, Ohio dedicated to establishing and maintaining an area chapter of Belegarth Medieval Combat Society.
Belegarth is a community of nerds dedicated to creating a medieval fantasy experience. From Arts & Sciences to tournaments and field fighting, there is truly something for everybody.
Originally founded in 1991 as a Dagorhir chapter, the Realm of Avalon switched to Belegarth in the winter of 2001. In early 2024, Officers of the Realm filed articles of incorporation to officially grant the organization a non-profit status. In current state, the Realm of Avalon, BMCS is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Our Mission
It is the mission of BMCS to create a safe, fun, inclusive, and friendly environment in which participants may engage in medieval-fantasy activities, especially simulated combat with sports equipment and the pursuit, study, and appreciation of related arts and sciences.
The Realm of Avalon, BMCS looks to support Belegarth’s mission statement at a local level, by implementing local practices, events, and community gatherings.

We aim to promote Belegarth as a medieval recreation community within North-East Ohio.
